Project 1 Description
RE Cosmetics is a makeup line that introduces a refillable makeup system, with the ultimate vision of integrating sustainable design practices into the cosmetics industry and advocating for the decline of disposable makeup. In addition to the refillable feature, RE tackles the highly common issue regarding expiration dates in cosmetics products by allowing users to set the open date of the product with an intuitive color dial to represent different months. In hopes of spreading awareness about current sustainability issues in the industry, Cindy anticipates this project will push the industry one step closer to the end of disposable cosmetics.

Project 2 Description
APEX is targeted towards daily hair dryer users to ultimately decrease the time it takes to dry and style hair over the lifetime of the user. The wall mount accessory that the hair dryer easily rests on eliminates the most time consuming aspect of using a hair dryer: the taking out and putting away of the product. Additionally, APEX's unique triangular form provides various grip points, allowing easy access to hard-to-reach areas.

Project 3 Description
Hanglo is a versatile lighted coat-rack hanger that also acts as a subtle light source for entryways and bedrooms. Its unique interactive quality introduced by the on-and-off functions of the switch components can be used as a hanger when switched down and as a light source when switched up. This feature ultimately creates various combinations of interesting light patterns on the wall.

Cindy is passionate about enhancing the daily lives of users and problem solving through beautiful, clever, and functional design. She believes that design has the power to create experiences, influence lifestyles, and contribute to the development of culture. She loves discovering design connections that are weaved into every fiber of the human experience and thinking of new ways to improve it. Cindy’s design focus is on cosmetics, housewares, kitchenware, and consumer electronics.

Outside of design, you can find Cindy taking photos, cooking and baking new recipes, or hiking with her dog Cas.
