Project 1 Description
Hicel is an interactive toy designed to help kids with Autism learn primary emotions and communicate more effectively. Reactions to specific behaviors and their consequences are valuable data for kids to use in their social life.
The toy expresses happiness, love, sadness, fear, and anger by showing different eye expressions, lights, and sounds in response to the child's actions.
The prototype is made with the help of Arduino and electrical components.

Project 2 Description
Swap is a dishwasher with two sets of racks to provide a seamless experience. One rack is stocked with clean dishes inside the machine, as the other is filled with dirty ones in the cabinet. After the dishwasher is done, the racks will be switched.
The concept saves time and energy by eliminating the need to unload the dishwasher and distribute the dishes in cabinets. It provides extra storage to stash away dirty dishes and keep the kitchen organized.
The information panel is tilted up to enhance visibility. A built-in indicator on the panel shows the status of dishes (clean/unclean).

Project 3 Description
Flip is a multi-functional sensory piece of furniture for children. It promotes physical activity and sensory exploration at home by providing input for vestibular and proprioceptive senses related to balance and coordination. Flip is created by merging toy and furniture concepts to achieve a product with undefined use that kids don't quickly get bored of.
Some primary use scenarios include the lounge, stool, horse rocking, and side rocking, but Flip is designed as a platform for kids to freely and creatively interact with.

Hi, I'm Mina, an industrial designer from San Francisco with an MA in Design from SFSU and a BA in Industrial Design from the University of Tehran.
